NXNE FILM FESTIVAL
Gala Presentation
Canadian Premiere of
JOHNNY CASH AT FOLSOM PRISON
Bloor Cinema – Friday, June 19 – 7:00pm
NXNE is proud to announce the Gala Presentation of the Canadian Premiere of the documentary film
Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison as part of the NXNE Film Festival.
Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison examines the single most important day in the career of the
legendary Man in Black and the prison where it all took place. Director Bestor Cram’s look at the
historic Folsom Prison concert of 1968 reveals a complex Cash and re-establishes the concert’s live
album as one of the most important recordings of the 20th century. The film includes exclusive footage
from behind the walls of Folsom Prison, unpublished photos by the legendary Jim Marshall, and new
interviews with Merle Haggard, Rosanne Cash, Marty Stuart, and former inmates who witnessed the
concert.
Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison will screen at 7:00pm on June 19th, at the Bloor Cinema, 596 Bloor
Street West. Running time is approx 87 minutes. NXNE Pass and Wristband holders gain priority
access; walk-up general admission tickets are available for $10.
