NXNE @ BMO Field
Tired musicians and media dragged their bodies out of bed on the final day of NXNE to head down to BMO Field for the annual “Put the Boot In” charity soccer match, always an integral part of NXNE week. Coached by members of Toronto FC and led by members of Bedouin Soundclash, Great Big Sea, Fashion TV, and the Ontario NDP, the “Rockers” and “Rollers” put on an entertaining display of staying upright for the several-hundred-strong throng. The game ended fittingly in a 1-1 draw. All proceeds from the match will go to Right to Play, an international sport-based human rights organization.
