Nothhingspecial is a 24-year-old self-taught multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter, and producer from Germany. She began writing and recording music at 14 in her bedroom, inspired by artists such as Tyler Joseph, Girl in Red, and various post-punk bands. After sharing her work online, she gained early recognition from artists including Girl in Red and Jaymes Young.
In 2021, she released her self-produced debut EP, recorded with €10 headphones, which led to industry attention and a nomination for the popNRW Newcomer Award in 2022. Known for her deep, warm voice and ethereal, catchy songwriting, she explores themes of feminism, mental health, and her inner world. In 2023, she signed her first record deal with the U.S.-based label Don’t Be Greedy Records, taking the next steps toward an international career.
