Avenoir

Billboard R&B LIVE Showcase
Avenoir is a singer and songwriter known for shadowy if deeply emotional progressive R&B. The Edmonton native appeared in 2022, and in 2023, he released Noire, a Juno Award-nominated EP led by the alluring slow jam "Link Up." Warmly received singles such as "Love," "Too Much," and "Art of War" increased anticipation for the September 2025 arrival of Mirage, his first album.
Born in South Africa, Avenoir (Caleb Odidi) was raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Before he started developing his singing talent, he learned piano, the basis for most of the songs he writes. In 2022, he self-released his first commercial singles, namely "TMW," "Eve," and "Shameless," all of which eventually attracted streams in the tens of millions. He struck a licensing deal with the Los Angeles-based independent label Listen to the Kids, and in 2023 continued with Noire, a seven-track EP that earned a Juno nomination for Contemporary R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. By the time of the ceremony in March 2025, Avenoir was well on his way to releasing his debut LP, having issued numerous intermediary singles and previews, from "Love" to "Art of War." "Heaven" and "Alone" followed over the next few months to further whet appetites for the full-length Mirage.
