NXNE presents DAPHNE & Noise Hotel
From NXNE to the next stage.
NXNE is proud to collaborate with TO Live to bring two of the festival’s emerging artist favourites to the
Meridian Arts Centre on November 13.
Featuring DAPHNE and Noise Hotel, winners of the NXNE People’s Choice Award in 2025 and 2026, the showcase celebrates the continued growth and momentum of artists discovered through the festival.
For NXNE, artist discovery is only the beginning.
Creating opportunities for emerging musicians to perform, develop their craft, and connect with new audiences is an important part of the festival’s mission. This collaboration with TO Live extends that journey beyond NXNE, giving audiences another opportunity to experience two rising Toronto artists live on stage.
Join us on November 13 at the Meridian Arts Centre for an evening celebrating emerging talent and
the next generation of Toronto music.
Meet the artists
Daphne
DAPHNE delivers immersive, high-energy performances designed to make you feel everything all at once. Her music feels like driving fast with the windows down: euphoric, alive, and cathartic. Known for her alternative DIY approach, DAPHNE is completely hands-on in her artistry, producing her own music, directing and editing cinematic music videos, incorporating 3D animation, and designing limited merchandise as an extension of her creative world.
An award-winning songwriter, she received the 2024 SOCAN Foundation Young Songwriters Award and the 2025 NXNE Garage Band People’s Choice Award. Her music has appeared on the BBC series Boarders, SiriusXM’s The Verge, Billboard Canada, RANGE Mag, and Spotify editorials, including Rock Now, All New Pop, Indie Pop & Chill, and Fresh Finds Canada.
Noise Hotel
Noise Hotel is a four-piece indie rock band steeped in nostalgia, with a penchant for velvet & neckties. Taking influence from Arctic Monkeys, The Backseat Lovers and Steve Lacy, Noise Hotel packs energy, melody, and undeniable stage presence into their electrifying live act. Noise Hotel has shared the stage with the likes of Moondoggy, The Kilans and Charlie Houston, and brought their immersive & high-energy live act to festivals and stages across Central Canada including NXNE and the legendary Horseshoe Tavern.
Noise Hotel was formed in 2022 by singer/guitarist Eric Montpool and bassist Christian Strong after a series of chance encounters in Ottawa, ON including a short-lived groupchat and a Christmas party jam. What started as a few songs between friends quickly grew into consistent shows at small clubs and bars in Canada's capital, turning Noise Hotel into a regular presence in Ottawa's lively student indie scene. Noise Hotel solidified their lineup in 2024 after the departure of original drummer Boshko Maric, bringing hometown friend-of-a-friend Brendan Vandepol into the fold behind the kit, and Eric's hannah vig bandmate Matthew Scharfe on guitar.
