Disaster Pony
JUNO-nominated Disaster Pony is a Toronto-based jazz/EDM project led by saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Gordon Hyland. Their self-titled 2024 debut, nominated for Instrumental Album of the Year, fuses jazz spontaneity with EDM momentum into a tape-drenched, sax-forward dreamscape co-produced with Adam Hindle and Ian Docherty. Praised by Midwest Book Review, PAN M 360, and Jazz Quad, the album moves from AI-uncanny cinema to elastic, shape-shifting melodies and controlled chaos. A rotating cast powers their immersive live shows, heard at JUNOFest, NXNE, Markham Jazz, and Shivering Songs.
